What's New in Partmate V5.12?
Enhanced features and functionality

The last Car-Part Scoop discussed new Bidmate features, but Partmate V5.12 has also been released and has its own set of enhancements to make the inventory process even better and faster. These enhancements are based on your comments and suggestions to make the products that recyclers want and need - all for only $25 per month after setup.

The new version of Partmate has many new features, and this list is only a sample of some of the best. To learn more about all the new features in Partmate, contact your salesperson.

  • Options Tab - The Options tab is a new section where you can identify up to 30 options on the vehicle, with an unlimited number of possible answers for each option. These attributes will then be automatically inserted into the description of the appropriate parts, so you don't have to re-type something in the descriptions of multiple parts.
  • Automatic import of your recycler data - You can now import your data straight from your inventory management system. After the initial setup, you can even schedule the import to run automatically on any day and at any time.
  • List of parts that should use grade multipliers - Partmate allows you to reduce the price of a part based on the grade, but sometimes this feature isn't perfect for all parts. You can now specify which parts you want to be priced based on the grade multipliers.
  • Use shop rate to calculate damage costs - You can now reduce the price of a damaged part by a shop rate value that you set. This only applies to the list of parts that have an ARA damage image, like a hood, fender, or door. You specify how much it will cost to repair one hour of damage. Then, when you are evaluating a part and apply damage, the price will automatically be reduced.
  • Category Field - You have always had the Category field in Partmate, which would allow you to indicate whether the part was a warehouse part, yard unbolted part, or yard part. Now, this information is now also sent to your inventory management system.
  • Kind Field - You can now set the kind of part you are inventorying by choosing an entry from the Kind drop-down menu. This designation will show up in the Kind field in Checkmate. The available kinds are Used-OEM, Surplus, New-OEM, 0 Miles-OEM, New Take Off, Remanufactured, Rebuilt, Aftermarket, Used Aftermarket, Incomplete, and Core.
  • Trading Partners Search for Non-interchange Parts - In Bidmate and Partmate, you can now launch a Trading Partners™ search for non-interchange parts.
  • Include Dismantling Time - You can now define and view how profitable it will be to dismantle a vehicle. The time it takes to strip a vehicle costs you money; this new feature can show you in a quick glance how profitable the vehicle will be in potential sales when compared to how much it will cost you after you initially dismantle it.
  • Export or Inventory Only - When inventorying a part, you can now choose whether to send that part to your IMS or to have it only display in the Dismantling Instructions Report. The Export checkbox is located in the Part section on the Partmate Parts tab. To export a vehicle to your IMS, keep this checkbox checked. If you do not want this part sent, click on the checkbox to uncheck it.
  • Wheel and Wheel Cover Image Search - You can now perform a wheel image search from Partmate, provided you are connected to the Internet and are a subscriber to this service. Simply click the black CP button from within Partmate to launch the image search.

Did You Know?

In the past, Checkmate users could use the Escape and Enter/Return keys interchangeably. However, in newer versions of Checkmate this is no longer an option. Pressing the Escape key will now perform a function as intended by Windows - if you press the Escape key when prompted to answer a yes/no question, you will actually be skipping the question and leave it unanswered. Be sure to use your Enter/Return keys to answer questions, and only use your Escape key when you would like to leave a field, start a search, etc.
