Do you use multiple computer monitors?

If you move a window to a second screen, then that window may no longer be visible when you disconnect that second screen. This is a common problem for people with laptops especially! Even though you are no longer connected to a second monitor, your computer is still trying to open that program or window on that second monitor.

Here's how to fix it: in your taskbar at the bottom of your screen, click to select the program. If the program or pop-up window isn't visible on your monitor, press Alt+Spacebar. The menu below will appear on your monitor. Press M to select Move, then use the left (←) and right (→) arrow keys to move the window back onto your screen.

The same tip applies for pop-up windows. Even if the main program window may open on your screen, a pop-up window from within the program may still be trying to open on one of your other monitors. For example, you may be able to open Bidmate on your computer, but Windows is still trying to open Bidmate's Evaluate Parts window on a monitor that is disconnected. Use the same Alt+Spacebar method to move the window back onto your screen where you can see it.
