Bidmate and Partmate New Features
in Version 18

If you are a Bidmate or Partmate user, you recently received an upgrade CD in the mail. (If you haven't received it yet, you should get it soon!) We also recently released an online update that you were, or will be, prompted to download and install on your system. With these two updates, we've packed a lot of big features into your system! Please take a moment to read about the biggest new features that the latest version of Bidmate and Partmate have to offer.
- Bidmate/Partmate: Change Window Size - This is a small change that we know will make a big difference in your workday! You can now increase/decrease the window size with your keyboard.
  • Increase window size: Ctrl + Shift + >
  • Decrease window size: Ctrl + Shit + <
- Bidmate: Core Buyer Data* - When you are evaluating a vehicle in Bidmate, you will now notice an additional column: Core. This column displays the price core buyers are currently paying for this part. You can use this information just as a reference, or configure your Bidmate settings to include core prices in your Bid calculation if the part would otherwise be a "No Buy" (change this in your Recycler Options). When you Win this vehicle in Bidmate, these parts are automatically inventoried as Cores in Partmate
- Partmate: Core Buyer Data* - When you are inventorying a vehicle in Partmate, there is now a Max Core Offer price available on certain parts. This displays the highest core offer our core buyers are currently offering. You can then view more information about all current buyer offers, or apply this price to the part. A Part Note will be added with the core buyer info (the note will be included on the Dismantling Instructions Report if your system is configured to do so).
-Bidmate/Partmate: Enhanced Car-Part Request Data Settings* - In both Bidmate and Partmate, you can see Car-Part request data as you work, to get a feeling for how in-demand a part is. This is particularly useful for parts that you have never had in inventory before. (In Bidmate, this information is on the Evaluate Parts screen in the Requests - CP column, with more robust information when you click the Requests button. In Partmate, it's on the Parts tab, in the Activity section.) In your Recycler Options, you can select the type of Car-Part Request data used/shown in these places. In Version 18, there are now more settings to help you further customize how this data is utilized. You can configure your Bidmate and Partmate to show local data, regional data, or global data. You can even configure some parts to display different data with the new Part Level Settings. (For example, you may prefer to see global request data for a handful of parts that are easy to ship across the country.)

Note: Your support rep can help you define what Local, Regional, and Global mean to your business. You must contact your support rep to define these markets in order to properly use this new feature. For more information about what this conversation with your support rep will entail, we encourage you to reference the materials that were included with your CD. You can also visit the Bidmate Training Library to download our guide: "Bidmate/Partmate: Using Local, Regional, and Global Markets" or watch our video: "Bidmate/Partmate: Determining Your Local, Regional, and Global Markets."
-Bidmate: View Sales History for Vehicles - In Bidmate, you can now research the sales history for each vehicle you're evaluating. On the Vehicles list, double-click the quantity in the QOH (Quantity on Hand) column. The Your Vehicles window opens, which displays your sales history for this vehicle (this includes all vehicles currently in your system, including those with a status of Crushed). Select a vehicle and then click View My Parts to see parts currently in inventry, or click View Sales History to see parts that have been sold/deleted from this vehicle.

- Partmate: Show Word List - You are probably already familiar with My Word List, which allows you to quickly add common words to your descriptions without manually typing them out every time. Now, you can keep this list open at all times by right-clicking on the list and selecting Show Word List. A separate window will open, displaying all of the words in My Word List. This window will stay open as you work.
-Partmate: Duplicate Part - You often need to inventory multiple of the same part (like a coil) but you don't necesarily want to put it on your part list multiple times. After you have inventoried a vehicle, you can now easily duplicate that vehicle and all of its attributes by right-clicking and selecting Duplicate Part. A prompt appears, allowing you to specify how many additional parts you want to add just like the one you have just inventoried. When you click OK, those parts are all automatially inventoried.
*Features with an asterisk are only available to Advanced Bidmate subscribers.
This newsletter has only scratched the surface of these features, and only highlighted the most popular features in the latest version of Bidmate. We strongly encourage you to seek out the more in-depth training materials we have available on our Products site. Look for the documents that say NEW! - these are the materials that will teach you about Version 18!

Did You Know?
When a customer searches for a part that you broker to display online, the stock number displayed with the part might be unrecognizable to you. If a customer contacts you about a part with a stock number that starts with the letter "e" that means they're calling about a part you are brokering from another recycler or vendor! Review this earlier edition of the Car-Part Scoop to learn more.
